Numerous species of snakes live in Texas. Some of them posing more of a danger than just a simple scare. Many are venomous, like the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake and Cottonmouth, and their bite can do significant amounts of damage. The biggest snake in Texas is the Rat Snake which can measure almost 7 feet and packs a vicious bite. Snakes can find their way into homes in so many different ways, popping up in toilets, attics, cluttered garages, and even piles of clothes. During heavy rains and winter season, snakes will seek shelter in or underneath your home and can be a danger to pets and children. Additionally, for livestock owners, depending on the breed of the snake, they can also consume chickens and their eggs, and other small animals. It is strongly advised that you never attempt to remove a snake on your own and to hire professional help instead.
