There are three main types of removals we perform from a home or structure.
One Way Doors - this is our most common method of removal. The concept is simple but effective, we install a special door on the entry hole that allows the animal(s) to exit and prevents them from re-entering.
Live Animal Removal - while rare, sometimes wildlife can actually get inside the house and not just the attic or crawlspace. This is an emergency situation that requires special tooling such as catch-poles or cages. We also provide snake removal and preventative products.
Dead Animal Removal - generally, we will remove dead animals from attics or walls. We do not remove them from the street or on private property unless instructed by the owner or the city.
Animals do not have a designated bathroom, so when they are rummaging in an attic, lots of times they will defecate and urinate without a second thought. This can leave your attic with an awful smell and potentially be dangerous if inhaled/ingested. Not every home needs full attic restoration. Full attic restoration is a last resort option. If the rodent infestation is significant enough that it cannot all be removed and replaced “by hand”, there is no other remediation than a full removal and replacement.
The honest truth is, when it comes to replacing insulation, duct work and wiring, it can be costly. That is why it is the last resort. We have families and homes/offices alike, so we understand the dynamic of the dollar. That is why we will never pressure anyone into a full remediation if it is not absolutely necessary. In some cases, you are able to claim the damage under your insurance.
Generally speaking, AIR DUCTS are a form of highway for an attic squatter. They serve as easy access from one side to the other. Unfortunately, this creates a problem for the home or business owner. Air ducts are easily damaged by wildlife with razor sharp claws.
When it comes to INSULATION, wildlife tend to use this as a form of nesting and as a padded toilet seat. Most feces and urine (if caught early on) can simply be removed from the attic space and have the areas decontaminated without extensive costs. Hindsight, when there has been an existing problem for a significant amount of time, the extent of damage usually will need full remediation.
Animals actions and reactions are unpredictable but they do have habits. For example, SQUIRRELS are creatures of habit, they have the same early morning and late evening rituals. If you have a squirrel entering your attic, you will usually hear them in the same area at the same time everyday (generally in the morning or evenings). Rats and Raccoons are opposite, neither species have many habits or rituals and they are both nocturnal. If you are hearing things in your attic, in the middle of the night, most likely you’re dealing with a rat/mouse or raccoon.
These tendencies also include where they are entering the structure and how they were able to. Knowing these vulnerable spots on your house or business allows us to stay ahead of the game by installing preventative exclusion materials where needed. This will help keep your home or office animal-free for years to come.
All metal and wire repairs are fastened with rust proof screws using custom fit sheet metal or heavy gauge welded wire. This insures the animal will not return where our repairs are applied. We treat every home and office as it were our own, our #1 priority being to permanently exclude wildlife. With the custom matched paint, your home or office will look to par, while being “animal-proof”.
A wise man once said, “a little paint goes a long way”. We couldn’t agree more! When installing our custom fit sheet metal, we strive to make the repair look like a part of the structure. That is why our repairs are finished off with custom match, high grade paint.
